Practice Editing
Before getting straight into editing my final music video, I decided to practice some editing on the footage i had but with a different song just so when i get to editing the final video i know what i have to do.

GREEN SCREEN
We shot a couple of scenes using a green screen, however we ended up not using this footage as we thought it didn't go well with the rest of the theme of the video.
EDITING PROCESS

The editing process became significantly easier after the practice i had done during the preliminary task and the practice video.

I wanted the opening to start from black and then open up so i decided to do that through the cropping effect. I set it to 50 top and bottom and set the ending point and set it to 0.

I adjusted the temperature and tint as well as the exposure, contrast, highlights and shadows of the footage in order to get the desired aesthetic and look.

I used effects such as additive dissolve and cross dissolve as transitions between scene

EDITING OF 3 SHOTS IN 1 SCENE
In order to get the desired results, i had to put 3 separately taken shots and combine them. I took these 3 shots and placed them in my adobe premiere works pace on top of one another. Then i had to go to the video effects panel and re scaled each footage and re-positioned them accordingly and also adjusted the brightness and contrast to make it seem more realistic and seamless.

ANALYSIS OF THE FIRST EDIT
The first edit was not as bad as i had expected it to be. I was actually really happy with what i had done. The starting with the opening scene of the main protagonist in three different stages really appealed to me. It symbolized that the person was in different states of mind at the same time.
The other video started with the protagonist lying on a cluster of leaves with an alcohol bottle in his hand. This was a wide shot. the next scene was a close up shot of the protagonist smoking a cigarette with low key lighting, all of these are codes and conventions used in actual indie pop music videos.
The next is a track out shot followed by another close up shot of the same person which is then followed by a lip sync shot close up of the protagonist.
